The purpose of this study is to develop a SNS literacy program for the elderly and to verify its effectiveness by applying self?efficacy theory. Nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design was used for the experimental design, the subjects were forty-two elderly people using the comprehensive social welfare center, and twenty-one subjects were assigned to the experimental group and the control group respectively. The research procedure is to develop the SNS literacy program, then the experimental group was administered the SNS literacy program and the control group was collected data without any treatment. SNS literacy program for the elderly applying to self-efficacy theory improved self-efficacy, communication-related quality of life, health perceptions, and life satisfaction to the elderly. Therefore, it is recommended that nurses actively utilize the SNS literacy program in health promotion interventions for the elderly in the community. However, since the elderly¡¯s health consciousness is partially supported, the research should be extended by adding interventions that can improve health perception in future programs.
